On November 14, An Evening of Doum will bring a unique event to Historic Irvington that celebrates belly dance and all of the various forms: Cabaret, Fusion, Oriental, Theatrical, Experimental, Raqs Sharqi, and more! Playground Productions is hosting 3 fantastic belly dance workshops during the day and an unforgettable show in the evening!
About the workshops
Another year of hosting workshops!!! Playground Productions will play host to three phenomenal performers/instructors in three different styles of belly dance: Live Interactive Performance, Belly dancing with props and balancing techniques, and Fusion! This series presents an evolution in the belly dance arts. As an added bonus, “Tableside Magic” will be accompanied with live music by Indianapolis-based, Southwest Asian & North African style music group Indy Raqs!

- 1:00PM – 2:30PM Athena – Fearless Finger Cymbals
- 3PM – 4:30 PM Aminah Louise – Move Like Your Mars; an Experimental Workshop

About the show
The Evening of Doum gala show has become a legendary showcase for dark fusion and other “underground” forms of belly dance, while still embracing more traditional variations like Egyptian and American cabaret. This year’s show is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet, and is sure to be an experience you won’t want to miss!
The performers involved are from various parts of the MidWest and the South! In addition to dancers we will have live music played by SWANA (Southwest Asia & North Africa) style band Indy Raqs!
This show may be the last, but who knows what the future holds for Doum, so don’t miss out on Indy’s greatest secret in dance and music!!
