We are excited to partner with Inferno Vortex to bring you Bellydance After Dark.
Inferno Vortex is a Bloomington-based fire performance troupe founded in 2013. The troupe brings together fire, dance, and flow arts. They have performed at Renaissance fairs, festivals, community events, and private gatherings throughout Indiana, and teach workshops throughout the Midwest.
Safety is a central part of what Inferno Vortex does. The troupe maintains trained safety personnel and professional equipment and has years of experience working with fire in performance settings.
For Bellydance After Dark, Inferno Vortex is bringing performance, workshops, and fire safety to the event.
Skapandi Events began in 2016. They are an event planning company that plans, or assists with planning, everything from reunions, retreats, conferences, festivals and much much more. Skapandi Events even has an educational component that will not only help train you to run your own event, they will even pay the upfront costs of starting your own event and stay with you for 5 years, fading out more each year as you direct your own dreams.

Venue
Bellydance After Dark will be held at Midian Outdoor Event Venue. Midian is a versatile, welcoming outdoor event space nestled in the natural landscape of Lawrence County, Southern Indiana. On 26 acres of mature woodland — midway between Bloomington and Bedford — the grounds offer something most venues simply cannot manufacture: a genuine sense of place. The facility includes a pavilion, open gathering fields, fire circles, and wooded camp areas that will provide a natural backdrop for our event.
The Midian General Store will be open during our event offering a selection of herbal teas, coffee, mushroom coffee, sodas, free bottle water and ice. They will also be hosting a raffle for fire props, light props, etc. to raise money for Midian.

Food
3 Sages will be on hand serving up tasty nourishment to sustain you through your dance/fire/drumming/camping journey!
Your all-day pass includes an option for primitive overnight camping!
What you need to know:
- The facility has porta potties. No flush toilets or bathhouses.
- There are showers but they’re for rinsing only. Due to local regulations, soap, shampoo and other products are not to be used. Still, it feels good to rinse the soot off before bed!
- Equipment is limited to tents and small teardrop-style, off-grid campers. There are no electric, water or sewer hookups.
- Apply to teach (due 9/13/2026)
Please limit your flow show performance to 5 minutes. If you wish to be in more than one act (e.g. performing as a soloist and with a troupe, or the flow show and the cypher), each act should have its own submission.
- Apply to perform (due 9/26/2026)
Volunteers are the backbone of a successful event.
If you are able to help, please let us know by sending us an email. Please let us know when you’d like to help (set-up, clean-up, or specific time slot). When you arrive at the event, just let the registration desk know that you signed up to volunteer and we will work with you to find an opportunity that accommodates your schedule!
What should I wear?
For everyone’s safety, please wear clothing made from natural fibers during fire activities. A 100% cotton T-shirt and jeans are perfectly fine. Can I perform in the show if I’m not a member?
Yes! However, each person (i.e. each soloist and every member of a troupe) dancing in the show must purchase an all-day pass (does not apply to individual and professional members of INBC, volunteers, or workshop instructors).
